curled up in my hoodie listening
to rain fall freezing onto pavement
coated power lines swiftly stiffening
drooping under crystal arrangement
lights snap off as power flickers
and startled shouts fill the darkness
'til backups kick in, dispelling jitters
leaving a state of heightened alertness
the wind murmurs grumpily around the corners
spreading a bounty of transparent paint
molding the world in chilly plaster
leading me to give the following complaint
Screw you Spring. Summer, get your butt in gear
I'd like to be warm at some point this year
